Yoga Therapy
Yoga Therapy is for anyone looking for a spiritual path out of physical, mental, and emotional suffering. We offer sessions for individuals or couples who are interested in incorporating yoga philosophy and practices to bring more ease into their lives. Sessions may be focused on a particular life challenge, or may be used to enhance overall health and well-being. This process is very personal and deep, which means it’s important that we build a trusting relationship with each other and take our time. Yoga Therapy is not a quick fix! It invites us to show up with an open mind, sincere heart, and willingness to self-reflect so that we can experience truly lasting transformation toward liberation.
What are Yoga Therapy sessions like?
Intake & Assessment
The first session(s) will include a review of your past physical and mental health history, as well as an assessment of your current state of being. We will look at things such as physical health, range of motion, posture, breathing, lifestyle, diet, sleep, relationships, family history, mental/emotional stressors, and spiritual life. This process invites you to be seen for the whole of who you are and helps to set a foundation of trust and authenticity for our work.
Yoga Philosophy & Practices
Follow-up sessions will incorporate yoga philosophy and practices to address your current challenges and goals. Each session will start with a grounding and check-in so we can assess what’s needed and move at the pace you are ready for. Practices could include physical postures and movement, somatics, mindful breathing, verbal processing, mantras and chanting, mudras, visualization, subtle body energy work, guided relaxation, meditation, lifestyle routines, and spiritual contemplation. All practices are adapted to your level of comfort and ability.
Real Life Integration
The goal of Yoga Therapy is to empower you with the wisdom and confidence to live with more ease. Every session will offer recommendations and tools to take and adapt into your life. For lasting change to occur, the bulk of the work needs to happen in your day-to-day life, not just in the therapy sessions. Each individual has the ability to find healing and wisdom inside themselves. It is our privilege to help you uncover and strengthen that inner potential.
Is Yoga Therapy for me?
Yoga Therapy is for people of all backgrounds, ages, faiths, abilities, and identities. The goal of yoga is universal to all human beings: to relieve suffering. Yoga is not a religion, though it can help strengthen the connection to yourself and your personal spiritual faith (if any).
